Responsibilities
- Assist in planning and delivering engaging Mathematics lessons.
- Support the lead Mathematics Teacher during classroom instruction.
- Assist with lesson preparation, teaching resources, and classroom organisation.
- Provide academic support to learners individually and in small groups.
- Help monitor learner progress and maintain assessment records.
- Mark classwork, homework, and assessments under the guidance of the supervising teacher.
- Assist with classroom management and maintaining a positive learning environment.
- Support learners requiring additional academic assistance.
- Participate in departmental meetings and school professional development programmes.
- Assist in preparing learners for internal and external assessments.
- Integrate educational technology into classroom activities where appropriate.
- Participate in school events, clubs, and co-curricular programmes.
- Uphold safeguarding policies, school procedures, and the Christian ethos of Firm Foundation Country School.
- Perform other duties assigned by the Head of Department or School Leadership.
Must Have
- Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics or a closely related field.
- Postgraduate Diploma in Education (PGDE), Diploma in Education.
- A strong understanding of secondary school Mathematics.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Willingness to learn and receive professional mentorship.
- Basic ICT literacy and willingness to integrate technology into teaching.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Professional attitude and commitment to learner success.
- Commitment to safeguarding and ethical conduct.
Nice to Have
- Recent teaching practice or internship experience.
