About the Role

Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver high-quality History lessons aligned with the Cambridge curriculum.
- Prepare schemes of work, lesson plans, assessments, and learning resources.
- Teach historical concepts using engaging, learner-centred methodologies.
- Develop learners' abilities to analyse historical sources and evaluate evidence.
- Foster critical thinking, debate, historical interpretation, and research skills.
- Assess learner progress through formative and summative assessments.
- Maintain accurate assessment records and provide timely feedback.
- Prepare learners effectively for Cambridge examinations.
- Differentiate instruction to accommodate diverse learning needs.
- Integrate ICT and digital resources into History instruction.
- Organise educational activities such as debates, quizzes, historical exhibitions, and educational visits where appropriate.
- Communicate learner progress with parents and school leadership.
- Participate in departmental meetings, school events, and professional development programmes.
- Maintain a safe, disciplined, and inclusive classroom environment.

Must Have
- Bachelor's Degree in History, History Education, Social Sciences Education, or a related field.
- Professional teaching qualification.
- Experience teaching Cambridge History or an equivalent international curriculum.
- Excellent command of spoken and written English.
- Strong lesson planning and assessment skills.
- Excellent classroom management.
- Strong ICT literacy.
- Ability to prepare learners for external examinations.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Commitment to child safeguarding and professional ethics.
Nice to Have
- Experience teaching Cambridge IGCSE History.
