About the Role

The Mathematics Teacher will be responsible for delivering high-quality Cambridge IGCSE Mathematics lessons, designing engaging learning experiences, monitoring learner progress and implementing effective intervention strategies to maximise learner achievement.

The successful applicant will work collaboratively with colleagues, parents and school leadership to maintain high academic standards while fostering a positive and supportive classroom environment that encourages critical thinking, logical reasoning and independent learning.

Responsibilities

  • Teach Cambridge IGCSE Mathematics in accordance with Cambridge International curriculum standards.
  • Prepare comprehensive lesson plans, schemes of work and instructional resources.
  • Deliver engaging lessons using learner-centred and inquiry-based teaching methodologies.
  • Assess learner understanding through classwork, assignments, projects and examinations.
  • Analyse learner performance data and implement intervention programmes where necessary.
  • Prepare learners thoroughly for Cambridge mock and final examinations.
  • Differentiate instruction to accommodate learners with varying abilities and learning needs.
  • Integrate educational technology and digital learning platforms into mathematics instruction.
  • Maintain accurate academic records, assessment data and learner progress reports.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, professional development activities and school programmes.
  • Communicate learner progress effectively with parents and guardians.
  • Uphold the school's Christian values, professional ethics and institutional policies.

Must Have

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics, Mathematics Education or a related field.
  • Recognised teaching qualification (PGDE, Diploma in Education or equivalent where applicable).
  • Demonstrated ability to teach Cambridge IGCSE Mathematics.
  • Strong understanding of Cambridge assessment objectives and examination standards.
  • Excellent classroom management and organisational skills.
  • Excellent written and spoken English.
  • High level of professionalism, integrity and reliability.
  • ICT proficiency, including Microsoft Office and digital learning platforms.
  • Passion for improving learner outcomes and professional growth.

Nice to Have

  • Experience teaching Cambridge International Mathematics at AS & A Level.
  • Familiarity with Learning Management Systems. 
  • Proven track record of excellent Cambridge examination results.
  • Ability to coach Mathematics Olympiads, STEM clubs or robotics programmes.
  • Experience developing differentiated learning materials.
  • Ability to teach Additional Mathematics or another science subject is an added advantage.
